National Dental Hygienists Week is almost here:
April is Oral Health Month, and an important part of this celebration is National Dental Hygienists Week (NDHW). It runs from April 7‒13. The focus this year is on the importance of maintaining good oral health practices while emphasizing the role of the dental hygiene profession in preventing and treating oral health problems. The week’s theme, “Oral Health for Total Health,” reminds us that taking care of our mouth, teeth, and gums has a positive impact on our overall health.
Steps to good oral health include brushing your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, floss between your teeth daily, rinse using an antiseptic mouthwash, eliminate tobacco use, eat healthy foods and visit your dental hygienist regularly.
